Most  public discussions relating to petroleum in America are focused on gasoline and diesel fuel consumption. However, the demand for lubricating oil in America will reach approximately 10,2 billion liters by 2008.

Oil Consumption Impact
Decreasing America’s dependence on oil is a key national goal as stated by President Bush in his State of the Union speech. The decrease in oil changes by 80% would decrease national consumption by about 2 billion barrels per year. Global consumption would be cut by many times that amount.
The good news is that technology not only exists but is in wide spread use to achieve all of these goals.
